Jessie Ruth Darling photograph collection, 1916-1942 (bulk 1916-1917).

The Jessie Ruth Darling Photograph Collection consists of 11 images of the Oregon Agricultural College campus, Corvallis views, and Oregon scenes. Most of the images (10) are photographic postcards. One of the images is a color picture postcard. All of the images are individually numbered (P157:01 thru P157:11). The collection includes copy prints of two of the images. The campus images depict Benton Hall in snow; snow on lower campus; and a view of lower campus. Several of the Corvallis scenes depict the February 1916 flood, including the damaged Oregon Electric Railroad near the Willamette River and the depot surrounded by floodwater. Other Corvallis views include the Van Buren Street bridge and a 1923 street scene that includes the Julian Hotel and Majestic Theater. The Oregon scenes include a 1942 image of Mt. Hood in winter from Government Camp and a color picture postcard, Surf Bathing, Newport, Oregon that depicts children wading on the surf. Several images from the collection are available online in the Best of the Archives digital collection.
